The four artists Vérok Gnos, Jutta Hieret, Iris Kamlah and Gloria Keller embark on a journey into the magical and profound world of bags. They illuminate the subject in a social, societal and cultural context and reflect on their own perspectives. They also play with shapes, materials, surfaces, external views and the inner life of this everyday object. The result is numerous objects and installations, some made from an unusual mix of materials, sometimes irritating and critically scrutinising, sometimes joking and humorous. After all, who doesn't smile when encountering an artistically designed lorry bag or chat bag? A photo series in the form of a lorry tarpaulin takes a blurred look inside a bag, a series of old museum bags elevates the plastic bag to the status of a toiletry bag, and a giant chequered plastic bag mutates into an exclamation mark for departure, travel and escape. The handbag makes a special appearance via a virtual stage - in the film, it rolls into the viewer's field of vision before making an explosive exit. But more shall not be revealed here ...
